Hidden Treasures (April through May)

Well, it is time for the second Hidden Treasures! For this, I will let you look at my Mt. TBR again and the first one to pick a book for me and post it in the comments will have picked the book for me to read within the next two months. Basically, the idea is that we all have so many unread books, there must be some hidden treasures we keep ignoring or missing. If you want to join in and have someone pick a book for you, just leave a link in the comments.

Thanks to Wendy @ Caribousmom, I even have a wonderful button for this event. Thanks a lot, Wendy!

The first time you picked Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie's Half of a Yellow Sun and Charlaine Harris' Dead Until Dark for me. I didn't finish Half of a Yellow Sun, as I couldn't get into the story, no matter how far I read (I managed to get to page 100, which is unusal for me), but I'm still working on Dead Until Dark and so far I enjoy it a lot! The second time around, I got The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne, which I have yet to review, but I am planning something for April, so bear with me!

So, for this time, you can pick a book from my TBR list. I'm curious to see what you'll pick!

Hidden Treasures (February through March)

Edit: I got my book. Beth Hoffman, the author of Saving CeeCee Honeycutt, picked The Boy In The Striped Pajamas for me. Thanks a lot, Beth! And for everyone else - if you want to join in, you can still leave links :-)

Last time you picked Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie's Half of a Yellow Sun and Charlaine Harris' Dead Until Dark for me. For this time, I have two things for you to consider when you pick a book for me:
1) My semester is almost over, so I'm very busy with term papers and presentations and exams.
2) Once the semester is over I'll be working on a slightly bigger project, in part also for this blog.
So please pick a book that is easy to read of fairly short (i.e. under 300 pages)!

So, to know what books you can choose from, I uploaded my list on Google docs: My Mt. TBR! Have fun browsing my list and pick me something nice!

the one with the "Hidden Treasures"

For this, I was inspired by a challenge in a German book forum. I liked the general idea, but all in all the rules were too difficult for my taste. Now I have tweaked it a bit - okay, maybe more than just a bit - to make it a great bi-monthly event, I hope!

The basic idea is to post your TBR list (whether you choose the whole big thing or the smaller list you created for your challenges) and have someone else pick your next book with a short explanation why they picked this book and not one of the dozen other books. The first book title left to you in your comment section is the one you're supposed to read (or at least try to read, if it turns out to be so bad you can't stand the thought of finishing it) within the next two months. That way, we all could find those hidden treasures on Mt. TBR that we neglected, ignored all this time!

Now, you don't have to participate in each round! Just join in when you can't decide what to read next or want a change of pace. Sign up in the comment section of my bi-monthly post by leaving a link to your post with your current TBR stack.

Also, to give everyone a chance to recommend someone a book and maybe even get to know our fellow book bloggers a bit better, don't leave that one book recommendation for every blogger that already signed up. ;-)

Now, I'll start with my list, which you can find here.

Which book should I read and why? I'll read the book until the end of January and post a review hopefully at the beginning of February at the latest (early on in the year, I'm better with reviewing on time).
