Review Policy

As I live in Germany, not every publisher out there is interested in sending me review copies, but in case you're looking into contacting me about reviewing a certain book, then here is some information you might find necessary.

Blogging is not my job, but I spend a fair amount of time online every week, reading other blogs, writing blog posts and preparing other things. Reading is my passion and I always carry a book around with me, which helps getting a decent amount of reading done each month (so far in 2010, I averaged 8 books a month).

My favorite genres & categories are:
Young Adult novels with the following topics
Sci-fi/fantasy (preferably dystopic fiction, urban fantasy, military sci-fi)
Thrillers
Literary fiction
Memoirs (preferably with a touch of humor)
Chick lit
Mysteries (police procedural, amateur detectives - both cozy and hardboiled)
Romance

Genres I do not usually read:
Political
Self help
High fantasy
Historical fiction

Please not that my main job right now are my studies, so I occasionally cannot read for fun. I will always do my best to review books in a timely manner, if in any way possible at or around the release date. Therefore, it would be best to contact me in advance. Please be advised that there is no guarantee my review will be positive, but I promise that my reviews will be honest and fair.

Series: I usually read series in order, so if you're pitching a book in the middle of a series, it would be nice if you could provide a copy of the previous books as well. Otherwise, I might need some extra time to buy or otherwise obtain the previous books to read them. Of course, I will then review all books in the series.

I review every book I finish, but I do not finish every book. If I am still not feeling it after 100 pages (less if it is a short book), I will put the book aside. These unfinished books don't necessarily appear on my blog.

I do not sell ARCs, though I may pass them on to other reviewers or offer them in a contest if they did not appeal to me. That way, they might still be reviewed.

I strive to cross-post all my reviews on GoodReads and, if requested, on Amazon.com.
